Most facilities use only a paper log to track their radiology ROI releases.

One of our “lessons learned” taught us that one of the most useful feature sets of our toolset is that we image both the request and record content (except PACS/film images) disclosed in any given release of information. This simplifies so many aspects of the ROI process from a hospital leadership perspective and is probably the single most complimented feature we provide. It is also a unique capability that is not available in other ROI systems.

Universata has found that many Radiology Departments do not have an electronic system for tracking ROI releases. Instead they tend to file the request/authorization alphabetically by month and use a paper log. When an Accounting of Discloses request is initiated by the patient or their attorney, it is a nightmare to be sure every release has been found.

With Full Service, Universata will authenticate the request/authorization, find the record, and send the report by eDelivery, eFax, or trackable delivery service. For images (PACS and Film), Universata will burn the image to CD, DVD or other media, and send it via trackable delivery service.
